Job summary

MLB Workforce in Charlotte, NC is seeking a CNC Tube Laser Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up, adjust, and operate CNC tube laser cutting systems to process steel tubes, pipes, and structural profiles.

We have immediate openings for 1st and 2nd shifts (6am-2:30pm and 2pm-10:30pm). You must be able to read blueprints, interpret job orders, and perform quality checks with calipers and micrometers.

Relocation to Charlotte, NC is required before starting work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machinery, tube/pipe lasers preferred.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and weld drawings.
• Proficient with standard shop measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, angles).
• Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate overhead cranes or forklifts.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Load raw steel stock onto bundle loaders or material handling systems and safely unload finished, cut parts.
• Interpret fabrication blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine exact cut specifications.
• Perform regular quality checks on finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure exact tolerances.
• Complete daily preventative maintenance, including nozzle changes, lens cleaning, and basic machine troubleshooting.

We are hiring for a leading steel fabrication and processing company seeking a skilled CNC Tube Laser Operator to join our production team.

We currently have immediate openings for both 1st and 2nd shifts at our manufacturing facility. If you have hands-on experience running tube lasers and thrive in a precision-driven environment.

• Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Shift Availability: 1st Shift: 6am - 2:30pm, 2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate CNC tube laser cutting systems to process steel tubes, pipes, and structural profiles.
• Production Setup: Load raw steel stock onto bundle loaders or material handling systems and safely unload finished, cut parts.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret fabrication blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to determine exact cut specifications.
• Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks on finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to ensure exact tolerances.
• Routine Maintenance: Complete daily preventative maintenance, including nozzle changes, lens cleaning, and basic machine troubleshooting.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machinery; specialized experience with tube/pipe lasers (such as BLM is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret blue prints and weld drawings.
• Precision: Proficient with standard shop measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, angles).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate overhead cranes or forklifts as needed.
