Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Administrator to manage and oversee daily benefits operations. This role will involve administering employee benefits programs, including enrollments, life status changes, COBRA, disability claims, and 401(k) support. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulations, maintain accurate benefits data, and provide exceptional support to employees regarding plan changes and eligibility. Responsibilities also include processing leave-of-absence requests, coordinating benefits communication materials, and performing audits to ensure data integrity. Experience with various benefits offerings, a solid understanding of applicable laws, and proficiency in HRIS systems is essential for success in this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily benefits administration, including employee enrollments, life status changes, COBRA, terminations, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
  • Ensure accurate benefits data in the HRIS for vendor eligibility updates.
  • Perform quality checks and audits of benefits-related data to maintain integrity.
  • Provide support to employees on benefits claims, plan changes, and eligibility.
  • Coordinate the design, distribution, and presentation of benefits materials for orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Address benefits inquiries from employees and managers regarding plan provisions, enrollments, and status changes.
  • Administer leave-of-absence requests, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA paperwork.
  • Interpret and apply FMLA and ADA regulations concerning leaves of absence and disabilities.
  • Respond to 401(k) inquiries, assist with enrollments, plan changes, and contribution adjustments.
  • Support acquisition-related benefits integration and cross-entity assessments.
  • Provide reconciliation reports for billing and allocation of group plan charges.
  • Document and maintain procedures for all assigned benefits processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and timely, accurate reporting.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, group benefits database, and payroll records.
  • Process monthly billings, preparing vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
  • Assist with plan audits and actuarial assessments, preparing and organizing relevant data.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits and applicable regulations.
  • Experience with various benefit offerings and related administrative tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Experience with self-insured healthcare plans preferred.
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now, Employee Navigator, and ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with software integration preferred.
Education:
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or related field, or 5+ years of benefits administration experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR, or CEBS certifications preferred.
Travel Requirements:
  • Flexibility to travel up to 5-10%
