Job summary

GDIT is seeking a VMware Engineer to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. You will design and maintain VMware vSphere cloud foundation infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and networking for complex environments.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, DoD 8570 IAT Level II minimum, a related technical BS with 6 years’ experience, and VMware certification.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline plus 6 years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong virtualization knowledge with VMware, Hyper-V or KVM.
• VMware certification required.
• Ability to learn new virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains VMware vSphere cloud foundation infrastructure.
• Evaluate existing network infrastructure and systems to determine business needs.
• Develop and deploy customized VMware solutions for various platforms.
• Oversee technology projects by managing both technical and administrative components.
• Collaborate with ISSO to secure an Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
• Apply core concepts to design effective systems.
