Job summary

JTEC Consulting LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to design, secure, and scale mission-critical infrastructure across production networks. You will ensure high availability, automating workflows and supporting a 24/7 on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI clearance with poly, 2–6 years in systems engineering or DevOps, and a STEM degree. Emphasis on automation, security compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with agency-specific polygraph required.
• 2-6 years of related professional experience in systems engineering, system administration, software testing, or DevOps environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Availability to support on-call 24/7 rotation schedule.

Responsibilities

• Architect, install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system tools across diverse environments.
• Provide direct technical support to ensure secure application environments and compliance.
• Develop and validate multi-tiered backup strategies, disaster recovery runbooks, and redundancy mechanisms.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, analyze resource utilization, identify bottlenecks, and optimize for high availability.
• Engineer robust automated workflows and scripts to streamline tasks and deployment velocity.
• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents spanning hardware, OS, networking, and applications.
• Support a 24/7 on-call rotation per contractual requirements.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and leadership to translate requirements into reliable infrastructure.
• Create and maintain architectural blueprints, SOPs, runbooks, and support documentation.
• Research and benchmark emerging infrastructure technologies to drive modernization.
