Job summary

GCI is seeking a Software Engineer SME (TS/SCI with Poly Required) to work on on-site in McLean, VA. You will contribute to data analytics and software development across engineering, targeting, and cyber operations, delivering robust, scalable web and cloud-based solutions.

The role requires hands-on design, development, testing, and documentation across AWS cloud environments, with a clear focus on performance and security.

Qualifications

• Experience with frontend and backend development for production-grade applications.
• Experience building complex visual products and web applications.
• Proficient with Git and GitHub version control.
• Strong HTML5/CSS3, and static site tooling (Hugo/SASS).
• Proficiency in TypeScript; familiarity with Webpack, Lerna, and Electron.
• Cloud-based infrastructure development and automation using AWS and CloudFormation.
• Experience with Express.js, Koa.js, or NGINX.
• Experience with RDS, MySQL, or DynamoDB.

Responsibilities

• Manage project priorities and tasks ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Meet customer requirements for quality, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• Adhere to customer development standards and best practices for web/app design.
• Update project statuses in production tracking tools.
• Design data objects suitable for JSON to support web/mobile apps and websites.
• Provide development, maintenance, and upgrade support for cloud-based services in AWS.
