Zachary Piper Solutions in Newington, VA seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, secure, and maintain resilient network architectures for government customers in dynamic, high-stakes environments. You will work with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ACI, and cloud networking, implementing Zero Trust, VPNs, and comprehensive network security measures to ensure mission-critical availability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of network engineering experience.
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Expertise in routing and switching protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP).
Experience with LAN/WAN architecture, design, and deployment.
Proficiency with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark).
Hands-on with firewalls, VPNs, QoS, and load balancers.
Strong background with Cisco Catalyst/Nexus/ACI.

Responsibilities

Design, secure, and maintain resilient network architectures for government customers.
Architect and optimize LAN, WAN, data center, and cloud networking solutions.
Lead deployment and lifecycle management of routing and switching technologies (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP).
Configure and manage Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI environments.
Develop and implement network security including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and Zero Trust.
Monitor network health and capacity using enterprise tools; resolve issues proactively.
