Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a TS//SCI-cleared Data Engineer to design, build, and deploy analytics solutions in Reston, VA. You will pull, clean, analyze, and visualize data to support senior DoW leaders and decision-support tools.

The role emphasizes mathematical optimization, NLP and GenAI usage, with a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in data engineering. Proficiency in Python and SQL/NoSQL is required, plus experience with web technologies and data visualization.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active TS//SCI clearance or immediate eligibility per DISS.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM.
• 2+ years applying data engineering or software development to analytic tools.
• 2+ years of Python or similar languages (Ruby, Java, R).
• 2+ years of database development (SQL and NoSQL).
• 1+ year leveraging prompt engineering and GenAI in a professional context.
• Experience with regex and NLP for advanced text parsing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage data solutions including data preparation, analysis, and deployment.
• Perform statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends.
• Formulate optimization, discrete-event simulation, and rule-based approaches.
• Gather and prepare data ensuring quality and integrity.
• Deploy results to stakeholders with actionable insights.
