Job summary

Prodigy One, LLC is seeking an Application Engineer in Laurel, MD to design software tools and subsystems enabling reuse and domain analyses while guiding development and CASE tooling usage. The engineer will estimate costs, monitor analytics health, patch security items, and automate routine tasks.

Required: active TS/SCI clearance with poly, 8+ years in system administration or software engineering, Linux mastery, and container tech such as Kubernetes/Docker/Rancher.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in system administration / software engineering
• Troubleshooting with VM, logs and sources; strong Linux skills (RHEL 8/9)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher for containerized workloads
• Familiarity with Apache NiFi or similar data integration tools
• Working knowledge of Ansible for automation and configuration management
• Hands-on experience managing VMs in OpenStack, VMware, or AWS
• Ability to troubleshoot SSH, performance, and network issues in Linux
• Experience applying security hardening (STIG, STE/STN) and maintaining SSP docs
• Experience with network flow monitoring

Responsibilities

• Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses
• Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and CASE tools
• Estimate software development costs and schedule
• Monitor health and status of analytic environment; perform security patching and updates; maintain up-to-date documentation; automate routine tasks via scripting
