Job summary

VTG in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Testing Analyst to support our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Information Technology or 3–5 years of relevant technical experience, along with knowledge of testing processes and experience analyzing network packets and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and SIP.

Proficiency in SQL and ASN.1 encoding, and strong communication and analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

Degree in Information Technology or 3–5 years of relevant technical experience.
Knowledge of testing processes and methodologies.
Experience analyzing network packets and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SIP).
Strong working knowledge of ASN.1 encoding.
Proficiency in SQL to query and update data.

Responsibilities

Analyze network packets and protocols to support system and product testing.
Apply structured testing processes to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
Review and interpret data encoded in ASN.1 format as part of testing.
Query and update data using SQL to support testing and reporting needs.
Analyze files and datasets to identify issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
Document test procedures, findings, and results clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
Communicate testing status, issues, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
Learn and adapt to new products, tools, and techniques as project needs evolve.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues identified during testing.
