Offit Kurman, a leading law firm, seeks a Trusts & Estates Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its Philadelphia Estates & Trusts practice. The role focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and taxation for high-net-worth individuals and families.

The ideal candidate will draft estate planning documents, analyze tax issues, and collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on sophisticated planning matters, including closely held business planning and succession

Qualifications

• J.D. required; PA bar admission is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in trusts and estates or related tax planning.
• Experience drafting estate planning documents, including trusts and wills.
• Strong analytical, drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage assignments independently while working with partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies.
• Draft and revise estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts and wills.
• Support business succession planning for closely held businesses.
• Analyze tax issues and assist in implementing tax-efficient planning strategies.
• Collaborate with corporate and transactional attorneys on matters involving ownership and liquidity events.
• Work with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to implement planning recommendations.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on trusts, estates, and tax matters.
• Assist with estate and trust administration and fiduciary communications.
