  • Execute fiduciary management and administer trust accounts per governing documents.
  • Partner with internal teams to support wealth strategies and client planning.
  • Provide high levels of responsiveness and annual reviews of fiduciary books of business.

Oakworth Capital Bank is expanding and has an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team in Birmingham, AL! We are looking for a full-time Trust Advisor that will play a vital role in supporting our business goals and overall vision. Summary

The Trust Advisor serves as the primary advisor for trust and estate clients, overseeing the administration of trust accounts in accordance with governing documents and fiduciary standards. This role focuses on client service, fiduciary execution and expanding relationships while partnering with internal teams.

Key Roles/Responsibilities
  • Provide extraordinary client experience
    • Build and manage ongoing client relationships, serving as a trusted point of contact for trust and estate needs.
    • Executing 3/3/3 to achieve NPS goals
  • Ensure execution of the Oakworth Model
    • Execute our balance approach; team approach; joint calling
  • Client Strategy & Planning Support
    • Partner with internal teams supporting overall wealth strategies; providing input from a fiduciary and trust perspective.
  • Fiduciary Management
    • Administer trust accounts in accordance with governing documents, exercising fiduciary judgment on distributions and ongoing management.
  • Community Involvement
    • Civic, professional, and networking organizations
Responsibility Details
  • Evaluates needs of potential clients and offers appropriate financial products and services.
    • High focus on client service:
    • Relationship management for existing clients, including ongoing and regular client contact and communication with meaningful substance to ensure client retention.
    • Provide a high level of responsiveness by returning calls and emails regarding client inquiries.
    • Complete annual reviews on fiduciary book of business to include having meetings with clients at a minimum of annually.
  • Strengthen and grow existing client relationships to support team goals:
    • Identify opportunities to deepen and expand current client relationships.
    • Partner on joint client calls with advisors to broaden engagement and uncover needs.
    • Maintain consistent engagement to drive retention, satisfaction, and growth.
  • Interpret trust governing documents and apply fiduciary judgment on distributions, account management, and related decisions.
  • Oversee the administration and ongoing maintenance of trust accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with governing documents.
  • Promote and educate clients on established services and collaborate with Banking, Investments and Advisory Services to meet client needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for fiduciary services for all markets.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred, advanced degree, JD or MBA preferred
  • CFP, CFA, or Series 65 preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in trust administration and fiduciary services
  • Credibility and knowledge within the field of wealth management and fiduciary services
  • Proficiency in Black Diamond, eMoney, and Microsoft Dynamics or a similar Client Relationship Management (CRM) platform preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening
  • Team focused and collaborative
