Job summary

GPAC is seeking a skilled Truss Designer in Ohio to design roof and floor trusses for multi-family and light commercial projects. You will use MiTek software to create layouts and 3D models, sizing EWP and hanger connections, and coordinating with sales, production and quality teams.

The role requires at least 5 years of truss design experience, proficiency with Alpine, and strong math and documentation interpretation skills.

• Proficient with Alpine (required).
• Comfortable reading and interpreting construction documents.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
• Get-it-done mindset with proven project delivery.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
• High school diploma or GED (required).

Responsibilities

• Design roof and floor trusses for single-family, multi-family, and light commercial projects.
• Use MiTek software to generate layouts and 3D models.
• Size and specify EWP and hanger connections as needed.
• Coordinate closely with sales, production, and quality teams.
• Manage RFIs and collaborate with external stakeholders to resolve design issues.
• Maintain clean and organized digital files using file server navigation.
• Ensure accurate, code-compliant, and efficient truss layouts.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, teammates, and management.
• Provide technical support for customers and internal teams.
• Work both independently and collaboratively to meet design deadlines.
