Job summary

Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. is seeking a laborer to join the production assembly team. The role focuses on building roof and floor trusses, assembling components, and supporting loading and delivery tasks while adhering to standard work and safety practices.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of manufacturing experience, a safety-first attitude, and the ability to read basic shop drawings and perform simple measurements. This is a full-time, on-site position in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• History of acceptable attendance.
• Must be safety oriented and able to follow standard work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble roof and floor trusses according to standard work.
• Perform plate picker functions and load/unload as directed.
• Assist in saw room and with cycle counts and inventories.
• Maintain 6S in the work area and follow safety regulations.
• Help with loading, unloading, and deliveries as needed.

A laborer versed in all areas, responsibilities and functions (standard work) of production assembly at SBTD focusing on Continuous Improvement, Safety, Quality and Efficiency.
