Job summary

Lumber Specialties, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks an experienced assembler lead for truss components in the Midwest. The role directs a team, ensures efficient assembly, quality standards, and schedules adherence while performing hands-on truss assembly tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 4-6 years of industry experience / truss assembly required.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
• Ability to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.
• Ability to operate a crane.
• Excellent teamwork and customer relationships.
• Understand truss building terminology.
• Understand camber and build tolerances.
• Understand shop floor build software.

Responsibilities

• Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
• Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
• Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
• Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns.
• Read shop drawings to understand stacking order when required.
• Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
• Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
• Adhere to established safety rules and procedures; maintain a safe environment.
• Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping bays/staging areas clean.
• Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
• Monitor inventory as required by location management.
• Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
• Serve in a working lead role overseeing fewer than 10 associates, directing daily work assignments and coordinating activities in advanced truss assembly.

A Brief Overview

Directs the work of Assemblers who assemble truss components. This position is a working role but is also responsible for leading a team who oversees the assembly process in an efficient manner.

Pay Rate: $28.50 per hour

What you will do

• Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
• Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
