Job summary

CDN Logistics, Inc., Northlake, IL, is hiring for a Truckload Dispatcher - Night/Weekends. This full-time, on-site role supports after-hours operations from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, keeping freight moving and assisting drivers with load questions and routing.

You will monitor shipments, communicate delays, coordinate roadside assistance, and ensure DOT/HOS compliance. A strong focus on accuracy and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in transportation, dispatch, or logistics preferred.
• High school diploma or GED; familiar with DOT regulations and Hours of Service.
• Clear communication and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Experience with DOT regulations and Hours of Service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track active loads and communicate delays to customers and internal teams.
• Assist drivers with load questions, routing, fuel cards, weather, and road closures.
• Coordinate roadside assistance, repairs, and load recovery.
• Prioritize urgent issues, elevate safety concerns, and follow DOT/HOS requirements.
• Provide accurate shipment updates and handoff to daytime team.

Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Keep freight moving overnight. Support over-the-road drivers, track shipments, and resolve service issues as part of our after-hours operations team.

What will you do?

• Track active loads, monitor pickup and delivery times, and communicate delays to customers and internal teams.
• Assist drivers with load questions, routing, fuel cards, weather, and road closures.
• Coordinate roadside assistance, repairs, and load recovery or repowers when needed.
• Prioritize urgent issues, elevate accidents and safety concerns, and follow DOT and Hours of Service requirements.
• Keep shipment updates and driver communications accurate, and provide a clear handoff to the daytime team.

What you bring:

• Two or more years of transportation, dispatch, logistics, driver support, or related customer service experience preferred; truckload or OTR experience strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and familiarity with DOT regulations and Hours of Service.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Comfort using transportation management systems, tracking platforms, email, and multiline phones.
• Dependable attendance for overnight and weekend shifts, with flexibility for occasional additional coverage and holidays.
