Job summary

Sysco Raleigh, LLC is seeking a Yard Spotter for our Raleigh area distribution operations. The role includes moving trucks and trailers, ensuring proper loading, and maintaining yard organization. A valid driver's license and Sysco forklift certification are required or obtainable after hire.

The position emphasizes safe operating procedures, efficient route execution, and coordination with fleet and transport teams to support daily loading and receiving tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school education.
• Experience: 1 year of warehouse or transportation experience preferred.
• Certs: Valid driver’s license; Pallet Jack and Forklift Certification from Sysco (can obtain after hire).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with loaders to move trucks and trailers per door assignments.
• Checks seals and refrigeration operate correctly.
• Moves trailers between dock doors for loading and unloading.
• Ensures loads are secured before moving from dock.
• Coordinates with transportation management on equipment routing.
• Works with fleet shop to ensure repairs are completed before use.
• Keeps yard free of debris and trash.
• Arranges trucks and trailers in an orderly, efficient manner.
• Moves trucks and trailers for receiving when needed.
• Records start-up times and reefer set points.
• Ensures trailer doors are closed when not docked.
