Job summary

MaineGuide in Lewiston, ME is seeking an experienced Transport Refrigeration Unit technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on TRUs following OEM procedures.

You will service trailers and tractors, work with electrical, mechanical, and climate control systems, and handle warranty documentation. The role requires DOT compliance knowledge, strong teamwork, and good communication as part of a hands-on, in-person team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on TRUs per OEM procedures.
• Maintain and repair trailers including electrical wiring, lighting, landing gear, interior panels, roofs, flooring, doors, thresholds and tire seals.
• Service and repair tractor-trailer braking systems including inspections and component replacement.
• Perform tire services including installation, removal, balancing and advanced axle alignments.
• Receive fuel deliveries, conduct fuel sampling, monitor fuel levels, ensure safety compliance, and complete required documentation.
• Process warranty repairs and claims with accurate documentation, tagging, parts retention and submission.
• Diagnose equipment issues, order parts, and maintain tractors, trailers, forklifts, shop equipment and other fleet gear.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records while ensuring DOT compliance.
• Collaborate with and support fellow technicians to maintain equipment reliability.

Job Description

Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) following OEM procedures, including refrigeration systems, electrical systems, climate control systems, APUs, heaters, A/C units, and trailer refrigeration components.

Maintain and repair trailers, including electrical wiring, lighting, landing gear, interior panels, roofs, flooring, doors, thresholds, and tire seals.

Service and repair tractor-trailer braking systems (hydraulic, air, ABS/EBS), including inspections, adjustments, and component replacement.

Perform tire services, including installation, removal, flat repairs, balancing, and advanced axle alignments using electronic alignment equipment.

Receive fuel deliveries, conduct fuel sampling, monitor fuel levels, ensure safety compliance, and complete required documentation.

Process warranty repairs and claims, including accurate documentation, tagging, parts retention, and claim submission.

Diagnose equipment issues, identify repair solutions, order parts, and perform maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, shop equipment, service vehicles, air compressors, and other fleet equipment.

Complete work orders, maintenance records, logs, and documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies and DOT regulations.

Collaborate with and support fellow technicians to maintain equipment reliability and operational excellence.

Pay: $37.10 - $40.60 per hour

Experience:

• Medium/Heavy Duty Truck, Trailer, and Refrigeration: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• State Issued Drivers License (Preferred)
• EPA 608 Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Lewiston, ME 04240 (Preferred)
