Moon Star Express LLC in Belleville, MI seeks Truck & Trailer Mechanic, PM Tech, and Shop/Road Service Techs for our fleet maintenance team. You’ll perform PMs, brake and electrical repairs, and DOT-related work both in-shop and on mobile calls.

Qualifications include 2–5 years for mid-level or 5+ years for senior roles, ASE/CDL/DOT certs preferred. Weekend shifts may be available; tools are required and company provides major equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands-on mechanic/fleet technician experience (Senior role 5+ years).
• ASE certifications preferred; CDL preferred not required; DOT inspection cert preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) services on trailers and tractors.
• Complete brake jobs, wheel seals, hubs, suspension, airbags, and lighting repairs.
• Conduct diagnostics using electrical testing tools and equipment.
• Handle electrical troubleshooting for lights, wiring issues, ABS, and sensors.
• Perform DOT inspections (if certified; otherwise, training provided).
• Document repairs accurately using work orders.
• Respond to road service calls when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Full Job Description

We are seeking skilled Truck & Trailer Mechanics, PM Technicians, and Shop/Road Service Technicians to join our growing fleet maintenance team. This role is ideal for mid‑level or senior techs looking for stable hours, strong benefits, and a professional work environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and DOT‑related work on trailers, trucks, and fleet equipment both in‑shop and on mobile service calls.

Experience:

• 2–5 years of hands‑on mechanic/fleet technician experience
• OR 5+ years for Senior/Lead role

Certifications:

• ASE certifications (preferred)
• CDL (preferred, not required)
• DOT Inspection Certification (preferred)

Tools:

• Must have own basic tools
• The company provides major shop equipment + specialty tools
