Job summary

Steel Technologies LLC is seeking a Truck Loader to safely and efficiently load outgoing trucks and unload incoming loads using a forklift or crane. You will multitask, stay organized, and manage time to prepare items for shipment while meeting customer expectations.

A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork will help ensure on-time deliveries. The role requires familiarity with shipping documents, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion, and ongoing forklift/crane certification.

Responsibilities

• Pull and compare inventory tags for load accuracy.
• Sign shipping paperwork and verify sign-off processes.
• Keep truck docks and storage areas clean and safe.

Job description

As a Truck Loader at Steel Technologies, your day-to-day responsibilities will include safely and accurately loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming loads using a forklift or crane. We can guarantee your role will require multitasking, organization and time-management skills. You'll be responsible for helping Steel Technologies succeed by preparing items for shipment to our customers and ensuring their expectations are met. Essentially, you play a big part in getting the finished material into the right hands at the right time.

How you'll contribute to our company:

• Select material for shipment from shipping/receiving documentation


• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane to transport materials to and from storage areas and work stations


• Load, unload and stack materials in accordance with established procedures


• Maintain up-to-date forklift certification and/or crane training


• Pull and compare inventory tags and ensure accuracy of load


• Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms


• Ability to routinely bend and squat


• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time


• Ability to repetitively grasp


• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds


• Monitor loading process and ensure proper signing of shipping paperwork


• Communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor and/or shift lead


• Housekeeping and cleaning of truck docks and storage area


• Retain loading requirements and schedule flow of carriers in and out of loading area
