Job summary

Reading Truck in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a Truck Installation Technician III to complete installations of specialty truck equipment under the Shop Supervisor. Tasks include mounting hitches, bodies, and other accessories while adhering to safety PPE requirements.

The role emphasizes welding, electrical wiring, shaft schematics, and hydraulic knowledge, with opportunities to train with other mechanics and take on additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years welding skills (metal and aluminum).
• 2+ years electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Independent troubleshooting ability.
• Hydraulics knowledge a plus.
• Operate power hand tools and bring basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Install truck bodies, plows, and commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

How You Will Make an Impact

ATruck Installation TechnicianIIIat Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment

such as service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other

commercial truck accessories.

The Nuts and Bolts

Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.

• Install truck bodies, plows, commercial truck accessories
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Basic weld experience (helpful)
• Train with other mechanics as needed
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Required Credentials

• 2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum)
• 2+ years of electrical wiring
• Ability to build schematics
• Complex Hydraulics knowledge and experience (a plus)
• Independent ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to operate power hand tools (and have basic tools)
