Job summary

Reading Truck is seeking a Truck Installation Technician to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment under the direction of the Shop Supervisor.

You will install truck bodies, plows, and other commercial accessories, mount hitches and racks, and perform basic welding and hydraulic work while following safety rules.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years of welding and electrical wiring, can read schematics, troubleshoot independently, and operate power hand tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum).
• 2+ years of electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Hydraulics knowledge and experience (a plus).
• Independent ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to operate power hand tools (and have basic tools).

Responsibilities

• Install truck bodies, plows, commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Train with other mechanics as needed
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.

How You Will Make an Impact

A Truck Installation Technician at Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment such as service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other commercial truck accessories.

The Nuts and Bolts

Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.

• Install truck bodies, plows, commercial truck accessories
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, etc.
• Basic weld experience (helpful)
• Train with other mechanics as needed
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

Required Credentials

• 2+ years of welding skills (metal and aluminum)
• 2+ years of electrical wiring
• Ability to build schematics
• Complex Hydraulics knowledge and experience (a plus)
• Independent ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to operate power hand tools (and have basic tools)
