Job summary

United Infrastructure Group seeks a Tank Truck Driver to operate a light water truck, maintaining moisture content on gravel/clay roads. The role includes site tasks and assisting craft workers on construction crews.

Typical duties include vehicle inspections, safe operation, emergency repairs, and supporting crew activities. Must have a Class B CDL with air and tanker endorsements and be able to travel as project needs require.

Qualifications

• Must observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Able to follow foreman directions quickly.
• Knowledge of water truck and road construction equipment.
• Able to pass a drug test and be legally eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Tank Truck Driver – Job Description

Primary Function of Tank Truck Driver: Drive and operate a light water truck vehicle, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to keep gravel/clay road surfaces at optimum moisture content. May also perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Assist craft workers and operate on a construction crew.

Typical Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Operate a water truck and other equipment in a safe, efficient, and appropriate manner.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment daily, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Proper machine start-up, operation, and shutdown knowledge
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs.
• Fill truck tank with water.
• Spray water in designated areas.
• Must be safety minded and adhere to all safety policies in addition to passing a test in reference to safe operation in a trench.
• Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
• Load or unload materials used in construction or extraction.
• Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools.
• Provide assistance to craft workers.
• Dismantle equipment or temporary structures.
• Mix, pour, or spread concrete and other materials.
• Maintain hand and power tools.
• Dig holes or trenches.
• Operate pumps or compressors.
• Clean or prepare construction sites for work activities and to eliminate possible hazards.
• Gather and distribute supplies and tools on the jobsite.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

• Respond quickly to foreman’s directions.
• Must observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions to management.
• Knowledge of water truck and other road construction equipment.
• Knowledge of road construction materials and road construction processes.
• Must follow policies and procedures and support UIG’s Mission.
• Experience in construction preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:

• 18 years of Age
• Class B CDL License with an air and tanker endorsement.
• Able to pass a Drug Test
• Legally Eligible to Work in the US
• Additional Requirements for Truck Operators/Craft Workers:
• Must have own transportation to and from jobsite every work day (driver's license not required).
• Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools), if applicable.
• May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities).
• Must be able to physically and repetitively lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a routine basis.
