Job summary

CHS Inc. in Herman, MN is seeking a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist to join our team. This role covers daily operations tasks, loading and unloading trains and trucks, and hauling seed, fertilizer, and chemicals to customers as needed.

This is a Monday–Friday, home daily position with longer hours during busy seasons. A valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is preferred or the ability to obtain; strong safety and compliance mindset is essential to support our agribusiness operations.

Summary

CHS in Herman, MN is looking for a Truck Driver/Operations Specialist to join our team! This individual would be repsonsible for helping with daily operations tasks including loading/unloading trains and trucks as well as hauling seed, fertilizer, and chemical to customers as needed. This is a M-F home daily position with weekends and longer hours as needed during our busy seasons. The ideal candidate would hold a Class A CDL with the tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain. Responsibilities

• As directed, carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently.
• Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading including sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching or detaching hoses.
• Load and unload agricultural inputs using machinery or equipment.
• Conduct and record repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and maintain quality of inventory.
• Deliver products to customer sites safely and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with all laws including pre- and post-trip reporting and hours of service.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and vehicles.
• Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
• Perform warehouse duties including forklift operation.
• Report customer complaints and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Knowledge of Operations and/or Trucking Operations
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Must meet minimum age requirement

Additional Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Maintain or be able to obtain a CDL and DOT medical card
• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends
• Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements preferred
• Valid Class A CDL preferred
• Agriculture background preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Bulk liquid, Pressure trailer, or Forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins, and into back of trailer
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
