Job summary

Silgan Containers in Missouri is seeking a dependable Truck Driver to stock inventory, transport goods between warehouses, load/unload, and support production as needed. You will perform inbound/outbound material handling, follow safety policies, and maintain accurate records.

Requires CDL A with no restrictions, fork lift certification, 1+ year trailer experience, and willingness to work in heat. Must comply with safety rules and operate computer systems to update stock and inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education, or equivalent, and 2 to 5 years related experience.
• CDL A driver's license, no restrictions.
• Minimum of 1 year experience transporting, hooking up/ off a 53' box trailer.
• Understanding of plant safety rules and regulations, particularly the Hazard Communication program.
• Computer skills
• Current fork truck certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts duties according to plant safety policies and procedures.

HOME EVERY NIGHT!

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check stock inventory physically and update into system to validate that restocking is in order.
• Drives truck to and from warehouses
• Loads and unloads finished goods and packaging
• Receives incoming raw materials and draws samples (see also Incoming Inspection and Testing Procedure)
• Moves bulk supplied raw materials from railcars to silo storage
• Performs duties in accordance with the Handling, Storage QOP
• Properly stores and keeps records of regrind and globs
• Assists in Production Department when needed
• Performs other duties required by the QMS, as assigned
• Conducts duties according to plant safety policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in 100 degree environment (summer months)
