Job summary

XPO is seeking a Truck Driver to join our team in California on a home daily schedule. The role requires a valid CDL-A, clean driving record, ability to obtain hazmat/tank endorsements, and flexibility for day/night/weekend shifts while meeting DOT requirements.

Responsibilities include safely operating tractor-trailers (including doubles/triples), loading/unloading freight, and delivering excellent customer service. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license.
• Safe driving record and history.
• Endorsements (hazmat, tank vehicle, doubles/triples) within 90 days of employment.
• Pass a DOT drug test with no positive tests or refusals in last 3 years.
• Hold a valid DOT Medical Certification Card or pass company DOT physical.
• Available to work a flexible schedule up to 12–14 hours daily, including day, night and weekend shifts.

About the Truck Driver Job

Pay, benefits and more:

• Expected pay range: $33.45 to $41.38 per hour. Pay is on an annual step progression. Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and triples
• Provide excellent service to customers, including generating sales leads
• Load and unload freight

Truck Drivers are required to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.); move and position a converter dolly with an average weight/pull force of approximately 128 lbs.
• Safely climb in/out of a tractor cab/trailer
• Sit for extended periods in a truck tractor and/or on a forklift; safely operate heavy equipment and a forklift
• Walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery (including working outdoors in inclement weather)
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
• Operate a tractor-trailer combination for up to 11 consecutive hours, in all types of weather, while safely transporting hazardous/non-hazardous materials

Pursuant to U.S. Department of Labor requirements, the worker must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and record.
