Job summary

Penske Logistics seeks full-time Class A floater truck drivers to cover routes and provide coverage as needed. The position offers home daily schedules in Birmingham and occasional overnight travel to Montgomery, AL, with all travel expenses covered.

Drivers operate late-model Penske trucks (48' and 53' trailers) and benefit from a comprehensive package including medical, retirement, paid vacation, and driver referral bonuses. You will join a nationwide team focused on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• U.S. domicile and state of residence license required.
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire is expected

Responsibilities

• Cover drivers who are on vacation, sick, or unavailable.
• Cover Class A routes and primarily Class B straight truck routes.
• Perform multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to retail stores.
• Unload freight using a pallet jack.
• Travel to Montgomery, AL as needed to provide driver coverage.
• Stay overnight when traveling outside the Birmingham area

What you will do

• Cover Class A routes and primarily Class B straight truck routes
• Perform multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to retail stores
• Unload freight using a pallet jack
• Travel to Montgomery, AL as needed to provide driver coverage
• Stay overnight when traveling outside the Birmingham area

Schedule

• Monday through Friday nights
• Start times vary by assignment
• Routes typically start between 11 PM to 1 AM
• Hours vary by route
• Primarily home daily when working in Birmingham
• Occasional overnight travel to Montgomery, AL for coverage
