Job summary

Penske is seeking Immediate Opportunities for Full-time Local Class B Delivery Truck Drivers in California. Earn $26.70 per hour with overtime after 8 hours. Local routes, home daily, weekends and holidays required.

Drivers operate Penske trucks with in-cab cameras for safety and compliance. Comprehensive benefits available. Qualifications include a valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement, DOT medical card, and 1 year of relevant driving experience.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement preferred.
• Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• Non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required.
• 1 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience in the last 5 years.
• DMV/MVR with two or fewer moving violations or accidents in the last 3 years.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.
• English language proficiency is required under federal law.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload crates of groceries to grocery stores.
• Deliver locally and be home daily.
• Follow assigned schedule; operation runs 24/7 with weekends and holidays as required.

You will drive:

Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks

Best-in-class specs designed for comfort and safety

Equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras helping to ensure safety for all

What you will do:

Loading and unloading crates of groceries to grocery stores

Home daily

Schedule:

Floater: schedule as needed

Days and hours vary based on coverage needed

Operation operates 24 hours 7 days a week

Qualifications:

Valid Class B CDL Airbrake endorsement required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence

Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required

1 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience in the last 5 years required

3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents

Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency

Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
