Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring a CDL-A Truck Driver in Des Moines, IA. This full-time local role offers dock-to-dock grocery deliveries, with late-evening 6:00 PM starts on a Friday–Monday schedule and frequent opportunities to pick up extra days.

Average pay is around $105,000 annually with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $3,000 annual safety bonus. Benefits include comprehensive health care, retirement plans, and uniforms. Home daily with direct driver support.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL; must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in your state of residence.
• DOT medical card (interstate) required.
• 1 year tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years.
• DMV/MVR with <=2 moving violations or accidents in last 3 years.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver grocery freight to a major grocery chain.
• Dock-to-dock deliveries with no pallet breakdowns.
• Unload and stage product in designated store areas.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers.

You will drive:

• Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks

What you will do:

• Deliver grocery freight to a major grocery chain, including freezer, cooler, and dry products
• All deliveries are dock-to-dock with no pallet breakdowns required
• Unload and stage product in designated store areas
• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers

Schedule:

• Friday through Monday
• 6:00 PM start time
• Extra days are available for additional earning opportunities

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
