Job summary

Penske is hiring Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers in the United States. Home daily with no touch freight and doubles/trips on linehaul routes. Late model Penske trucks, safety features, and strong benefits accompany a driver-focused culture.

Dispatch times vary; typical schedule is Monday–Friday with some evenings. Candidates need a valid Class A CDL, the ability to obtain a medical card, and at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years (or 2 years in the last 5).

Qualifications

• Doubles endorsement required; experience preferred; training available.
• Valid Class A CDL and eligible to work in the U.S.
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years.
• DMV/MVR with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
• English language proficiency required by federal law.

Responsibilities

• Cover Doubles or Linehaul routes as assigned.
• Haul two 28' PUP trailers for doubles assignments.
• No touch, drop and hook.

What you will do:

Work consists of Doubles or Linehaul route coverage

Doubles assignments involve hauling two 28' PUP trailers between locations.

No touch, drop and hook

Schedule:

Dispatch times vary based on the assigned work schedule.

Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday.

Typical dispatch time is between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

You will drive:

Late model, Penske maintained trucks

Qualifications:

Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence

Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required

1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years

3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents

In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.

Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
