Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Class B CDL Truck Driver to operate a 26' straight truck on local routes with home daily service. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and paid training.

Schedule is Monday through Friday with a start time of 5:30 AM. Endorsements including Hazmat are required; 9 months to 5 years of relevant experience may qualify. Training on equipment is provided to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test and background check including DMV record for last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide a valid CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards and maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
