Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Houston, TX is hiring a Class B Heavy Touch CDL Truck Driver. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a home-daily route while operating safe, well-maintained straight trucks with a 24/7 maintenance network.

The position requires a CDL with endorsements, a DOT physical, and the ability to pass Ryder's drug and background checks; candidates should meet age and safety prerequisites and be prepared for a 4:00–6:00 AM start.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A or B verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience in past 3 years, OR 2 years in last 5 years, OR 5 years in last 10 years.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Pass Ryder drug test and background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned

Pay & Benefits

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
• Hours Per Week: 45 - 50 Hours
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Start Time: 4:00 AM - 6:00 AM
• Customer / Patient Experience Required

Route & Truck

• Run in: Surrounding Areas
• Route: Home Daily
• Tractor Type: Straight Truck
• Equipment: Pallet Jack and Stair Walkers
• Freight: Heavy Touch - Medical Supplies
• Heavy Touch Required
• TWIC card preferred, but not required – we will reimburse .

Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
