Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Danville, Virginia, offering weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a driving career built on safety and reliability.

The position features a local home daily route, no-touch yard work, and modern tractors. You’ll work a 40–50 hour week with start times around 2:00–3:00 AM and a paid training program to get you up to speed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months past 3 years OR 2 years past 5 years OR 5 years past 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads.
• Compliance with safety and DOT regulations, including ongoing training and customer service.
• Maintain records and logs, and manage move and yard inventory records.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
