Job summary

Ryder in Bloomfield, CT is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver to support regional deliveries. Earn weekly pay with benefits and comprehensive training. Start time and schedule details are provided by recruiters as part of the onboarding process.

You will operate a Day Cab tractor with reefer 53' trailers, maintain safety records, and participate in a 7-day operation with two consecutive days off. PTO accrues and a 401(k) plan is available.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with verifiable experience in tractor trailer operation.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test and background check including motor vehicle records.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and Ryder safety standards.
• Load/unload freight and assist with handling as required.
• Support routes and schedules for efficient regional delivery operations.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.71 per Mile with 2031 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$20.66 per Stop with 1 Stops per Week
• Per Diem Pay: $75 per night with 3 nights per Week
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel
• Paid Training
• Schedule: 7 Day operation - 2 Consecutive days off

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road testProvide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
