Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Naugatuck, CT. This role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a pathway to a sustainable driving career.

The driver will operate on a regional line haul with a Day Cab tractor, delivering to MA, CT, NY, PA, NJ, and Long Island, with no weekends. You must possess a valid CDL A and pass Ryder's pre-employment checks, including drug testing and the DOT physical.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with endorsements for the position.
• Experience in tractor-trailer operation: 9 months in 3 years, or 2 years in 5 years, or 5 years in 10 years.
• Ability to pass Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle checks, and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Load/unload freight as required and maintain accurate logs and records.
• Follow routes and schedules; operate Day Cab tractors with safety and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.64 per Mile with 1000 - 1200 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$25.00 per Stop with 30 Stops per Week
• Per Diem Pay: $50 per night with 1 - 2 nights per Week
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel
• Rental Cars Provided and/or Mileage paid for personal vehicle over 30 miles
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday NO WEEKENDS
• Start Time: Between 4:00 am and 6:00 am Dispatch

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
