Ryder System, Inc. in Gary, IN is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver. Positions offer weekly pay, paid training, and a pathway to safe, reliable regional driving with 2–3 layovers per week.

Starting time ranges 3:00–6:00 AM; sign-on bonuses and retention bonuses are available, with comprehensive benefits after 30 days and PTO from day 1. Endorsements include Tanker (Hazmat preferred) and a sleeper tractor with manual transmission.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Hazmat endorsement preferred (Ryder will train to obtain Hazmat).
• 9 months to 5 years of tractor-trailer or equivalent experience (as specified).
• Must pass Ryder drug test and background checks.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; Rotating Sunday Dispatch
• Start Time: 3:00 AM - 6:00 AM
• Sign on Bonus: Pays you $2000 at 30 days, $2000 at 90 days
• Retention Bonus:Pays You $2000 at 6 months
• Safety Bonus:Pays You $1500 at 3 months, $1500 at 6 months and $1500 at 9 months

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
