Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local home daily routes in Virginia, with weekly pay and strong benefits. The position offers trained support, 40-hour minimum weekly guarantees, and opportunities to grow within a large logistics network.

Drivers receive paid training and a 401(k) with company match after one year. Expect 40–45+ hours weekly, 5:00 AM–7:00 AM start, and routes to VA/MD with day cab tractors and flatbed trailers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have Class A CDL and endorsements.
• Must pass Ryder drug test and background and motor vehicle checks.
• Must pass DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Experience requirements: 9 months (past 3 years) or 2 years (past 5 years) or 5 years (past 10 years).
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to read and apply laws, rules, regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards and maintain logs/records.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay: $30.00 Per Hour

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
