Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Edison, NJ is looking for a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our local, home-daily fleet. This role features weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a sign-on bonus with paid training.

You will operate 53' dry vans to NYC area routes, follow schedules, and maintain safety logs. A valid CDL A with endorsements is required, with 9 months to 5 years of tractor-trailer experience depending on tenure.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL with endorsements as needed.
• CDL and endorsements verifiable by a road test and DMV checks.
• DOT physical and drug screen required.
• 9 months to 5 years of recent tractor-trailer experience depending on tenure.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver SOLOto NYC and the five boroughs on a local home-daily route.
• Maintain logs and comply with federal/state regulations.
• Load/unload freight as required and operate equipment safely.
• Adhere to schedules and safety policies.

• Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $30.74 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 40 or more hours per week
• Sign On Bonus: Pays you $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Performs other duties as assigned
