Job summary

Glen-Gery in Lawrenceville, VA is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to support local Virginia and North Carolina deliveries, plus over-the-road transportation. The role also transfers products and materials between company locations and suppliers.

You will operate forklifts, perform pre-trip inspections, manage inventory, and help maintain a safe yard environment while complying with DOT regulations. CDL Class A and 1–2 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Job description

Glen Gery has a new opportunity for an experienced Truck Driver based at our Lawrenceville, VA plant. This role includes local deliveries throughout Virginia and North Carolina, over-the-road (OTR) transportation, and supporting Glen-Gery manufacturing operations by transferring products, plant materials, equipment, and parts between company locations and suppliers as needed. The position also assists with forklift operation, loading and unloading materials, inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make local and OTR deliveries in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound orders.
• Operate forklifts, Moffett/truck-mounted forklifts, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate delivery vehicles and heavy yard equipment safely and effectively.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of building products, proper storage, handling, and transportation methods preferred.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight as required.
