Job summary

SALVATION ARMY CORP in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a part-time driver/stock associate for the NSC-Spartanburg Family Store. The role includes coordinating scheduled pickups, routing for efficiency, unloading donations, and maintaining trucks.

• Unload donations and distribute items in the warehouse.
• Ensure truck maintenance is up to schedule and perform routine checks.

This position is responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:

• Review scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location.
• Organize scheduled pick-ups by most direct routes to save time and fuel consumption.
• Inspects donated items briefly to ensure they can be used according to established policies and procedures; explains policy to customers regarding the types of items that can be accepted.
• Unloads donations from truck upon arrival at warehouse; distributes items to appropriate locations in the warehouse.
• Ensures the truck meets the scheduled maintenance and performs operators' maintenance in accordance with established standards.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Work requires riding in a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
• Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy materials, supplies, and equipment frequently. Heavy mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching, or transporting merchandise on frequent change basis relieved by fewer periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.
• Work is performed in a stockroom, warehouse, or store environment where there are discomforts associated with changes in weather; there are occasional discomforts associated with noise, crowds, dust, lint, chemical odors and the like.
