Truck Driver – SA Recycling

Work Transport Operations in a scrap metal recycling environment, ensuring safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Job Duties

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
• Work independently while operating trucks.
• Assist customers to satisfy their needs and resolve problems.
• Collaborate with yard employees to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform routine maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Clean up work area at the end of shift.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Organize materials to use space effectively.
• Dispose of various waste materials appropriately.
• Inspect to ensure cleanup is completed.
• Ensure ongoing housekeeping for safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed qualified and are “grandfathered” into their positions.
• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• High school diploma or GED (or foreign education) preferred.
• Bi‑lingual (English & Spanish) language skills are a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively, understand written or oral instructions, and use basic math skills.
• Previous experience operating a wheel loader is a plus.
