Hinds County Government is seeking a truck driver to operate large tandem-axle trucks, hauling gravel, asphalt, and dirt between pits, plants, and work sites. The role requires adherence to state laws and proactive maintenance notifications to supervision.
The ideal candidate has a Class A CDL in good standing, a clean driving record in the last 5–10 years, and at least 2 years of tandem-axle experience. This is a non-exempt, at-will position with starting pay listed below.
Summary This work involves operation of large trucks with tandem axles. The incumbent is responsible for safe operation of vehicles. Materials hauled include gravel, dirt, or asphalt. Operation of the vehicle must be within accordance to state traffic laws. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that preventive and repair maintenance is conducted on the equipment through notification of the employee's supervisor. The incumbent carries out these duties in a manner that does not require continuous and direct supervision by the immediate supervisor.
