Job summary

Northeastern Supply in Manassas, VA is seeking an Entry Level Truck Driver. You will deliver orders on schedule, assist with loading, and ensure accuracy of shipping papers while representing the company safely and professionally.

This position requires a valid driver’s license, a clean MVA record, and 1–2 years of work experience. Up to 50% travel, day shift, and opportunity for growth within a safety‑conscious, customer‑focused logistics operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying shipping papers.
• Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure on-time delivery according to time frames and customers’ needs.
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer and report discrepancies.
• Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements and keep safety/quality documents up to date.
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations.
• Follow company policies and safety guidelines.
• Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. for safe performance and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain communication with company during deliveries for updated instructions.
• Perform occasional warehouse and counter duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Truck Driver will work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s customers. Driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers.
• Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs.
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company.
• Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes.
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations.
• Follow company policies and procedures (including safety initiatives and guidelines).
• Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind.
• Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received.
• Perform occasional warehouse and counter duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used

• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years’ work experience.

• Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Requires long periods of sitting.
• Frequently ascends/descends from truck during deliveries.
• Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperature.
