Job summary

Focus Hope in Detroit is seeking a Truck Driver to deliver commodities using a 48-53' trailer to local agencies on typically one-day runs. The role reports to the Warehouse Manager and requires submitting logs, bills of lading, and inspection sheets after each route.

Responsibilities include assisting in the Central Warehouse when not driving, maintaining vehicle logs, and promptly reporting any loading delays. You will deliver food boxes and perform related duties as assigned.

General Statement of Duties:

Responsible for delivering commodities utilizing company vehicle with attached 48-53-foot trailer. Transporting to local locations usually on a one-day basis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to the Central Warehouse Manager for daily assignment of deliveries.
• Complete and submit inspection sheets and log sheets as required.
• Make sure all bills of lading, package slips, and shippers are turned in to the Food Center Manager or Food Center Supervisor after each run.
• Assist in Central Warehouse when there is no driving assignment.
• Report any delays in loading or unloading immediately to management.
• Maintain listing of emergency numbers, procedures and contacts in vehicle.
• Responsible for State of Michigan and Focus Hope daily and periodic maintenance truck logs
• Deliver food boxes to participating agencies.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting when driving the vehicle long distances within the service areas.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times
