Job Description

We are looking for a Truck Driver to join our Mayer team in Columbus, OH. The role involves delivering products to/from customers, company branch/warehouse locations, and suppliers in a delivery van or box truck (No CDL required). The driver must ensure deliveries meet customer requirements efficiently and materials are correct and free of damage.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete daily inspection report.
  • Keep vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; notify supervisor of repairs/service needed.
  • Follow DOT, local and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load or unload vehicle and verify all material for each order is correct and damage-free before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
  • Complete all required documentation at time of delivery, including signed delivery receipt, packing list and branch/warehouse manifest.
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition and verify quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Senior Truck Driver will train and mentor entry-level drivers.
  • Provide support for other warehouse duties such as preparing, filling and receiving orders, stocking, staging, and shipping material.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What You’ll Need
  • In lieu of experience, must attend company driver training.
  • Valid driver’s license and at least 21 years of age.
  • Pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
  • Obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate within 60 days of hire.
  • No suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within past 3 years.
  • No at-fault accidents in past 3 years.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Handle loads with combine weight not exceeding 26,000 GVW.
  • Handle basic issues and problems.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiar with traffic and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
