Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in one of three locations: Choudrant, LA. Carville, LA. and Dayton, TX. The Truck Driver will operate commercial vehicles to transport LPG, anhydrous ammonia, and other chemical products in accordance with federal, state, and company safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring accurate loading and unloading of products, maintaining required logs and documentation, and adhering to hazmat handling procedures. The driver will plan routes, communicate with dispatch, respond to schedule changes, and manage on-road issues professionally. The role also involves regular interaction with customers at loading and delivery locations, representing the company with courteous and reliable service.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL (Class A) with appropriate endorsements (including Hazmat and Tanker) and a strong record of safe driving.
• Experience operating commercial trucks, preferably with hazmat or tanker loads, and proficiency in defensive driving practices.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety procedures for hazardous materials and chemical transport.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections, basic troubleshooting, and proper loading/unloading of tanker or bulk products.
• Strong attention to detail for maintaining logs, delivery records, and compliance documentation with accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for working with dispatch, terminal staff, and customers, and for reporting issues promptly.
• Ability to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed, and to travel regionally or over-the-road.
• Physical ability to climb, bend, and handle hoses or equipment required for loading and unloading, following safety protocols.
• Clean driving history and ability to meet background checks and drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Prior experience in LPG, ammonia, or chemical transport is beneficial; safety certifications or training in hazmat handling are a plus.
