Job summary

Alabama Goodwill Industries in Birmingham seeks a Truck Driver to safely transport donated goods between donation centers, stores, and warehouses. You will follow dispatch routes, load and unload cargo, and ensure secure, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, DOT compliance, accurate mileage/logs, and professional donor interactions. This role requires physical work, safety focus, and reliable, courteous service to support our mission.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Clean MVR is required.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate box trucks and/or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Execute assigned routes and schedules as directed by dispatch.
• Load and unload donated goods using proper equipment and techniques.
• Ensure proper load securement to prevent damage or injury.
• Transport goods between donation centers, stores, warehouses, and partner locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain a clean driving record and safe driving practices.
• Utilize GPS and fleet tracking systems; complete digital manifests and deliveries.
• Obtain proof of delivery when required.
• Record mileage, fuel usage, and route activity.
• Provide courteous and professional interactions with donors, customers, and staff.
• Represent Alabama Goodwill Industries positively.
• Address basic customer questions and escalate concerns as needed.

SummaryThe Truck Driver for Alabama Goodwill Industries is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional transportation of donated goods between donation centers, retail stores, warehouses, and other designated locations.
