Job summary

Wallwork Truck Center in North Dakota is hiring a Truck Body Technician to join our team. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with pay between $18 and $34 per hour depending on experience.

You will repair and replace damaged truck parts according to factory and dealership specs using hand and power tools. This role requires an HS diploma or equivalent; completion of mechanical trade school is preferred, or a minimum of three years of mechanical experience.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree from a mechanical trade school or in progress of degree.
  • ASE certification and valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine vehicle condition by inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.
  • Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment.
  • File, grind and sand repaired surfaces.
  • Repair or replace defective mechanical parts.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Some overnight travel may be required as needed. (Lodging, meals and travel expenses are compensated per company guidelines.)
  • Completes vehicle safety checks on company vehicles per Company policy and operates the vehicle within safety guidelines; immediately reports any safety concerns or Company Policy violations to management.
  • Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
  • Performs Wallwork Inc.-wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
  • Upholds Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures.

Job description

Wallwork Truck Center is currently hiring for Truck Body Technicians to join our team. Typical scheduled hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Pay $18-$34/hr. DOE. The responsibilities for the Truck Body Technician are to repair and/or replace damaged truck parts and components; trucks will be repaired in accordance with factory and dealerships specifications using hand and power tools; to adhere to company-wide safety standards, work well within a team, and maintain regular attendance. Wallwork Truck Center's Body Shop is committed to having customer trucks look like they just rolled off the lot, brand new. This role requires an H.S. diploma or equivalent; completion of mechanical trade school is preferred, or a minimum of three years of mechanical experience. A valid Class C driver's license is preferred; ASE certification and knowledge of truck body repair are preferred; ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle report required.

Education and/or years’ experience required:
