Freightliner of Hartford, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Specialist for welding and custom fabrication to join our team in Hartford, CT. You will be responsible for the custom assembly and fabrication of dump bodies onto premium heavy-duty chassis.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, metal cutting, and drilling.
• Ability to read and understand English-language wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Forklift operation is required.

Responsibilities

• Custom Fabrication: Build and assemble dump truck bodies onto various OEM heavy-duty truck chassis.
• Welding & Cutting: Expertly weld steel using MIG equipment; operate plasma cutters and oxy/acetylene torches.
• Systems Installation: Fabricate and install 12V wiring harnesses and PTO (Power Take-Off) assemblies.
• Hydraulics: Assemble and plumb hydraulic hoses and complete hydraulic systems.
• Precision Work: Accurately read tape measures and follow complex wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Shop Operations: Operate forklifts and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
