Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck and Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in truck and trailer maintenance and repair, with the ability to fabricate and assemble components as needed, with strong expertise in Trailer Floors and Doors. The Truck and Trailer Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining truck and trailers to ensure they meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair all equipment, including suspension systems and diesel engines, to appropriate specifications (company standards, DOT, OEM, etc.)
• Fabricate and assemble parts as required for repairs or modifications (including Trailer Doors, Floors, Ceilings and Side walls).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of trucks and trailers.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively and safely in the repair process.
• Solder electrical connections as needed for trailer lighting and other electrical systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols.
• Complete required documentation associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to be punctual 5 days /week with a can-do attitude daily.
• 5+ years of previous experience as a truck and trailer mechanic or in a similar role.
• Expertise in Trailer Floor and Door repair and installation.
• Strong knowledge of truck and trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Experience with diesel engine repair is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical issues accurately.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to understand instructions and follow directions of supervisor(s) along with good organizational skills and ability to communicate clearly with co-workers
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
• Valid Driver’s License (No-CDL required, but preferred)
