Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Baltimore, MD seeks a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee. Office is outdoors with a fresh daily view, offering hands-on learning in climbing, pruning, and tree care.

You will join a crew, learn tools and safety procedures, and grow your skills toward advanced arborist duties. Training and safety certifications provided as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and be paid to do that.
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills.
• Learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

What You’ll Do:
